On October 4, 2024,\u00a0a meeting took place\u00a0in Dushanbe\u00a0at the Hilton Hotel. The event\u00a0was\u00a0attended by\u00a0representatives\u00a0from\u00a0USAID, the\u00a0Tuberculosis Eradication\u00a0Project\u00a0in Tajikistan, the Republican Center for Population Protection\u00a0Against\u00a0Tuberculosis, USAID consultants on tuberculosis,\u00a0and global health security. Also in attendance were\u00a0public organizations\u00a0such as\u00a0Afif, Good Action, Spin Plus, Health, Swan Plus,\u00a0and\u00a0the Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan. The meeting focused on\u00a0tuberculosis control cooperation in Tajikistan and\u00a0explored\u00a0the space of opportunities.<\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed the work plan and key priorities\u00a0for the\u00a0project\u00a0from October 2024 to September 2025.<\/p>\n

The meeting was\u00a0conducted\u00a0in an interactive format,\u00a0with\u00a0participants actively\u00a0participating\u00a0in\u00a0engaging\u00a0discussions.\u00a0Together, they\u00a0developed concrete steps\u00a0to improve\u00a0the diagnosis, treatment,\u00a0and prevention of tuberculosis.<\/p>\n

Special attention was paid to\u00a0coordinating\u00a0efforts to combat tuberculosis and HIV\u00a0across\u00a0all levels of the Tajik\u00a0healthcare\u00a0system, which\u00a0became part of the next FHI 360\u00a0global health security\u00a0project.<\/p>\n

USAID and its partners\u00a0have\u00a0expressed their\u00a0commitment\u00a0to\u00a0increasing efforts to\u00a0fight\u00a0tuberculosis during\u00a0this challenging time\u00a0and contribute to\u00a0strengthening\u00a0health systems\u00a0in Tajikistan. During the meeting,\u00a0several\u00a0important strategic decisions were made\u00a0to improve\u00a0the effectiveness of\u00a0TB\u00a0control\u00a0efforts\u00a0in\u00a0the country.<\/p>\n

Some of the key areas of focus\u00a0include improving\u00a0early detection, treatment, and\u00a0adherence to\u00a0treatment for TB patients, as well as\u00a0enhancing collaboration\u00a0between government\u00a0agencies\u00a0and public\u00a0health\u00a0organizations.<\/p>\n
