Members of\u00a0parliaments\u00a0from Eastern Europe and Central Asia visited the office of “Cooperation on Tuberculosis Control in Tajikistan”\u00a0on\u00a0May 17.\u00a0In\u00a0the afternoon,\u00a0traditional\u00a0music\u00a0was played\u00a0at the entrance\u00a0of\u00a0the TBT office. Representatives\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0parliament, heads of tuberculosis institutions, international organizations,\u00a0and journalists from\u00a0those\u00a0countries were welcomed by staff with bread,\u00a0salt,\u00a0and traditional Tajik hospitality.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the\u00a0distinguished\u00a0guests\u00a0learned\u00a0about\u00a0TBT’s\u00a0efforts\u00a0in\u00a0prevention, detection, treatment,\u00a0and support\u00a0for tuberculosis, as well as\u00a0the importance of\u00a0raising public awareness about\u00a0the disease.\u00a0At the same time,\u00a0they\u00a0interacted\u00a0in a warm and friendly\u00a0setting\u00a0with\u00a0representatives\u00a0from\u00a0countries\u00a0working to\u00a0prevent\u00a0tuberculosis. The\u00a0guests\u00a0also\u00a0had\u00a0the\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to meet with prominent individuals\u00a0and members of the “Our Heroes: No\u00a0Tuberculosis”\u00a0collective,\u00a0including\u00a0Nozia Karomatullo, Mukimjon Abdufattayev,\u00a0and\u00a0Khabib Khakimov, known as the “Goddess of Love,”\u00a0and Abdurakhim Nabiyev,\u00a0known\u00a0as\u00a0Mergan’s grandfather.<\/p>\n

Visitors were able to\u00a0learn\u00a0about\u00a0the most\u00a0advanced\u00a0methods of diagnosis, treatment, care,\u00a0and education related to tuberculosis.\u00a0These included:<\/p>\n

\"\u27a1\ufe0f\" <\/span>Development and publication of audio,\u00a0visual,and video materials with the\u00a0help\u00a0of famous national\u00a0figures<\/p>\n

After the visit of high-ranking guests,\u00a0Donierhuja Fozilov,\u00a0a member of the “Our Heroes: No\u00a0Tuberculosis”\u00a0team,\u00a0invited everyone to\u00a0“a cup of tea”. This\u00a0event\u00a0was filled with bright humor\u00a0and\u00a0was especially\u00a0memorable\u00a0thanks to the\u00a0representatives\u00a0of tuberculosis prevention\u00a0–\u00a0Mukimjon Abdufattayev, Abdurakhim Nabiyev (Mergans’\u00a0grandfather),\u00a0and Daler Rakhmonzoda.\u00a0During the meeting,\u00a0all\u00a0traditions and elements of\u00a0traditional\u00a0hospitality were observed.
