A briefing on the presentation of digital technologies aimed at combating tuberculosis.
Today, on December 2nd, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted a briefing to discuss the introduction of innovative digital solutions for tracking new tuberculosis cases (BS), identifying latent tuberculosis infection (SSN), providing preventive treatment, following diagnostic and treatment protocols, and expanding the population’s access to personal tuberculosis testing. The event was attended by Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Gafur Mukhsinzoda, First Deputy Minister, Riordan, Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), representatives of development partners and relevant institutions, and experts.
The meeting was opened by Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population, Jamoliddin Abdullozoda. He emphasized the importance of introducing digital technologies in the fight against tuberculosis. The minister noted that digitalization allows for more effective management of the disease, timely tracking of new cases, and development of measures for diagnosis and treatment.
In line with the strategy of healthcare digitalization, the use of innovative methods for protecting the population against tuberculosis will significantly improve disease control and provide timely assistance to those who need it, as noted previously.
In his opening remarks, John Riordan, Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Tajikistan, emphasized the importance of multisectoral cooperation in implementing USAID’s investments to digitize the tuberculosis prevention system in the country. This cooperation contributes significantly to strengthening the healthcare system and creating the basis for sustainable and rapid adaptation of medical facilities in emergency situations. It also lays the groundwork for the operational planning of measures to combat the disease.
The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to exchange views on various aspects related to this topic during the discussion.
